IAFBA Scholarship 2022-2023 | Rewards, Eligibility, How to Apply

IAFBA Scholarship 2022: The executive committee of the Indian Air Force Benevolent Association (IAFBA), Administers and manages Merit-Based Scholarships for Air Force officers. The scholarship is available annually. Children of air force officers that are either serving, retired or deceased can also apply for this scholarship. This scholarship is also applicable for students studying from Class 6th to postgraduate level. The objective behind offering this scholarship is to  support the IAF children financially in completing higher education. IAFBA also presents the scholarship to the school/college going children of serving IAF officers who do well in sports on the recommendation of AFSCB.

  • School Education: NCs(E): No merit. Minimum 60% marks in the latest examination
  • Others: Purely on merit basis. Minimum 60% marks in XII board exam

  • For youths of serving, Retired and Deceased AF officers
  • Youths studying in class XIth. Maximum of 2 yrs or fulfillment of school education whichever is faster.

Undergraduate

  • For youths of serving, Retired and Deceased AF officers.
  • Maximum of 3 yrs or completion of the lesson whichever is faster

Undergraduate Professional

  • For youths of serving, Retired and Deceased AF officers.
  • Maximum of 4 yrs or fulfillment of the course whichever is faster (For MBBS 4.5 years)
  • Children applying in 2nd,3rd,4th or 4.5th year.

Post Graduation

  • For youths of serving, Retired and Deceased AF officers
  • Maximum of 3 yrs or completion of the course whichever is faster
  • Youths applying for 2nd or 3rd year

Post Graduation Professional

  • For youths of serving, Retired and Deceased AF officers
  • Maximum of 2yrs or fulfillment of the lesson whichever is faster
  • Youths applying for 2nd year

Specially abled youths

  • For youths of Serving, Retired and Deceased AF officers
  • Children that are undergoing training/education in a recognised institution.
  • Maximum of 5yrs or completion of training/ education whichever is faster.
  • Maximum of 10 yrs but renewable after every 5yrs provided the child got a minimum of 50% disability

Sports

  • For youths that are serving as AF officers
  • School/College category
  • Maximum of 3yrs is renewable annually.

IAFBA Scholarship General Instructions

  • Subroto Memorial Scholarship Schemes (SMSS) is managed and conducted by the Executive Committee of the IAF Benevolent Association.
  • The request form duly completed in all respects is to be sent to the Secretary, IAF Benevolent Association, AFGIS Bhavan, Subroto Park, New Delhi – 110010 so as to reach this office by 30 Sep (R) 30 Sep. However, applications for Professional lessons only can be submitted up to 31 Oct (R) 31 Oct each year. This form is not to be used for CONTINUATION cases
  • Inadequate applications or applications obtained after the due date will not be evaluated. No suggestion in this regard will be made. The competitor is not entitled to a scholarship if he/she is already in receipt of any other scholarship.
  • At any point for clarification that may occur is to be related to the Secretary of the IAF Benevolent Association. The judgment of the Executive Committee on the prize of the scholarship will be final.
  • In case the youth is applying for 1st year of scholarship i.e. lesson XI, 1st year of Graduation courses,1st year of Master’s courses, he has to submit an attested copy of the mark sheet of Base Class i.e. X, XII, Graduation respectively as the case may be. Similarly, if the youth is applying for a scholarship in 2nd year or thereafter, he has to submit attested documents of the mark sheet of the base lesson and all the lesson/Semesters he has expired after base class. The minimum criteria for applying for SMSS is 60% in a lesson /semester.
  • Result of the scholarship will be made at the end of each year on receipt of attested copy of mark sheet, acknowledgment from the parent and certificate from School/College exhibiting that the learner is not in receipt of any other scholarship or allowance. Receipt/Acknowledgement and Certificate can be downloaded from SL No. 31 of Downloads on the IAFBA website at AF Net and also available on the internet.
  • The scholarship will be charged manually in January/February to the bank account of the student by NEFT. Mobile No. and Bank details of the student are to be filled in the form at Sl.No.10 & 11 of Pt-I (Mandatory). Copy of Bank Pass Book / canceled cheque of the student to be attached.
  • Youths of deceased/retired AF officers are capable to apply only if parents are in receipt of an assistance.
  • The youth should be a punctual learner in a school/college/institution recognized by the Central/State Board or University.
  • A youth should secure a minimum of 60% for the continuation of the scholarship.
  • The classification of applicants i.e. serving, Retired, Deceased will be determined as per category on 01 Oct anually
  • If no indication is received by the applicant it is construed that he/ she has not come into the value schedule.
  • Value schedule will be published on IAFBA web pages under the ‘HR Initiative’ link of www.indianairforce.nic.in (Civil Network) and on www.iafba.iaf.in (AFNET) after the finalization of the scholarship board.

Question 1: What is an IAFBA Scholarship?

IAFBA Scholarships for Air Force officers  2018, are for youths of AF officers and scholarships will be allocated anually. This scholarship is mainly for AF officers Retired, deceased & Serving children.  This scholarship is offered by the Indian Air Force, Govt of India.
